K-5 -Kindergarten does Kandinsky

Supplies:
1.  4 X 4 inch square of white paper  for each child
2.  one pencil per child
2.  4 Crayola Magic Markers per child
3.  A short biography of French Expressionist, Wassily Kandinsky

4.  3-4 copies of Kandisky's paintings (available at the same website)

Instructions:
1.  Spend 10 minutes teaching the children who Wassily Kandinsky was and what his paintings were famous for.
2.  Give each child a square of paper with 4 different colored markers.  Follow the color scheme in the above photograph, choosing each child's markers carefully.
3.  Instruct the children to use their pencil to draw a small circle in the center of their square.
4.  Next, they should add the three larger circles.
5.  Using the magic markers, they will fill in each circle with the appropriate color.
6.  Take the squares to a frame shop where they will mount, matt, and frame your collage.
7.  It could be entitled "Kindergarten Does Kandinsky."
